The speed festival is back in town, with a dazzling display of distinctive Cars and Motorcycles from throughout the decades. The show stoppers will be C and D type Jaguars, supplemented by a fine array of cherished sports cars from yesteryear.

Wow, that’s great news, I’m sure it will continue the success of the Speed Festivals previous events as I know there was a lot of disappointment initially when there was talk of missing next year out. At the same time, the amount of organising that’s involved must be a logistical nightmare.

Having enjoyed 2016 as a spectator and 2017 as an entrant, I am firmly behind this idea. A parade in the town is a great idea as is a static display but every entrant would relish the chance to ‘give it some’ up the hill!

I’m looking forward to entering my race replica motorcycle in this year’s event at Shelesly Walsh. I ran two bikes at the last event in Bromyard town centre and I have two questions concerning this year’s event. Firstly, when will entry forms become available and secondly, are there any noise restrictions in force, as my 1960’s works replica bike is unsilenced and runs four open exhausts. It sounds glorious but it is rather noisy!
