Bromyard Christmas Lights

Bromyard is a very special place all year round but never more so than at Christmas when the main streets are festooned with strings of lights for the town’s fabled Christmas Illuminations, reputed to be the best display in Herefordshire.

The Big Switch-On of Bromyard’s annual ‘Christmas Lights’, accompanied as always by a busy day of Yuletide events,  is scheduled for Saturday 18th November 2017 at 5.00 pm.

Bromyard Speed Festival

April 2018

Bromyard Speed Festival is a street motoring event to be held in the centre of Bromyard. It is a celebration of the rich motoring history in and around Bromyard. Around 100 to 120 historic, vintage and public interest vehicles relevant to Bromyard, will take part in a street parade through the town centre, from the Town Square on Broad Street, returning via Rowberry Street. Each class of 10 -12 vehicles will drive around the circuit for a period of 15 – 20 minutes with a leading pace car used to determine safe circuit speeds. Commentary will come from a Public Address system on the street.

Scarecrow Festival

8th, 9th & 10th June 2018

Bromyard Scarecrow Festival takes place every Spring in the unspoilt Herefordshire market town of Bromyard. It includes a scarecrow parade, prizes for best children’s and adults exhibits, a scarecrow trail for the public with cryptic clues and a special supper on Bromyard Town Green.

Bromyard Gala

This was the 50th year of the Bromyard Gala, the hugely popular show highlights the best of country pursuits, classic vehicles, steam engines and local produce, with an action packed central arena.

Nozstock – The Hidden Valley

Amid the emerald fields and raggle-taggle farmhouses of Herefordshire’s ruralest countryside lies Nozstock The Hidden Valley.

A delightful amalgamation of performance, art, electronic supersounds and good old-fashioned guitar-strumming and drum-bashing, and an established family event, Nozstock is a sonic escape boasting nine stages of entertainment with surprising sights and intimate, secluded areas of theatre and discovery to be unearthed.

Bromyard Hop Festival

27th August 2017

The economic and cultural heritage of Herefordshire’s hop-growing industry has always centred on Bromyard, including Bishop’s Frome and the Frome Valley.

With estimated crowds of nearly 5,000 and the Hop Race was streamed live worldwide. The day features the unique event, the Hop Pocket World Championship, part of a full day’s programme of events.

Bromyard Folk Festival

6th, 7th & 8th September 2018

This will be the 50th year of Bromyard Folk Festival and will be packed with over 170 hours of entertainment over one weekend. The event is based around traditional folk music, and is complimented by dance displays, a craft market, world foods, a real ale bar, concerts and ceilidhs.
